Professor drove us to the small village called ‘’Grignan’’. It was so quiet and ancient looking-in other words-my preference. Buildings made of stones and rocks, hilly roads, beautiful views of nature, wonderful place. We walked a bit, then sat down in a café, had warm coffee and then went to winery. Our stop was large beautiful house and when we entered it, there was a shop with not only wine but also other products that are also produced in France. Our guide for this trip gives us a tour around wine cellar telling us the processes that are made using which machine. After we went outside to see the planted grapes of different sort. Our guide showed us the difference in leaf and oak. We were followed by a dog. Not some ordinary dog but well-trained dog whose mission is to find truffles. As it was not the season of the so called “black diamond” the pet could rest easily and show some curiosity about us. This wine making company also had some profits of selling truffles, they don’t stop just on wine. We were also taken on another building next door which is specialized for guests to have some meal and relax by the bar. Also, our guide lady told about future plans of one of the buildings owned by her father. That in future it is planned to build up small hotel for guests to rest. As it is important for every wine cellar for the guest who have this wine tour degustation will surely be unable to sit by the wheel and drive a car on sober mind. So, in my opinion that is a necessity that each wine salesman must accomplish.
Later, we had an opportunity to taste the wine, both red and white. We left each one of us with a bottle of wine, that’s how good it was.
The excursion didn’t end on that. Unplanned visit of syrup making shop was added to our list. We watched together a short movie about the history of syrup making and the process itself. Had our own individual tour and little tasting included. Nice addition to the trip.
